“For me, the haiku writing experience consists of two primary endeavors: the “way of haiku” and the “craft of haiku.” The way of haiku is about the moment. It’s about cultivating openness, celebrating essence, recognizing moments of wonder, and then transcribing them as haiku. It’s about honoring our pure relationships with entities in the world around us. While the way of haiku is primarily a solitary engagement, the craft of haiku is often undertaken in community.
