Past Due, haiku by Jeff Stillman
Jeff Stillman writes poems of emotional weather, often wry, sometimes caustic, frequently amusing. He has been doing this for more than a decade, yet this is his first full-length collection, one you may well decide was overdue. Not since his appearance in A New Resonance 6 have we had the opportunity to consider his poems in any sort of gathered way. It is clear that when his poems do bulk up, there is a cumulative power and plangency to be had, more than any single poem could possibly offer.
