Description
Peggy Willis Lyles (1939–2010) a former Woodrow Wilson Fellow and English teacher, was one of the most beloved figures in contemporary English-language haiku. She was associate editor of The Heron’s Nest and a member of the Red Moon Anthology staff. Her books included To Hear the Rain: Selected Haiku of Peggy Lyles, a Haiku Society of America Merit Book Award winner. But her greatest contribution will have been her great kindness and spirit, with which she inspired so many of her students and peers.
