Description
the last butterfly, haiku by James Kirkup
James Kirkup had a long and prolific career in literature far beyond
the shores of haiku. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of
Literature, and a widely known translator, writer and teacher as well
as a talented and controversial poet. He was the first President of the
British Haiku Society, and longtime advisor to the Japanese journal Kô. This postscript
volume offers 19 of his most significant haiku in English, a genre he
was not convince worked, but to which he gave much of his time and
energy.
